INFORMATION AND BOOK SERVICE
NSA makes available these fine books on photography and related subjects. Books prefixed with (ST) have some stereoviews reproduced; the number indicates what percentage of the illustrations are stereos. Those prefixed with (P) are illustrated with photos, often from stereoview halves. Those with no prefix are either illustrated with line drawings or are primarily textual. All are soft-bound and quarto size unless otherwise noted. Book sizes are approximately as follows: 'Folio ; 10" x 13"; "4to." (quarto) 8" x 11"; 8vo. "(octavo), 6" x 8". These books are available to members and non-members alike.

These are reproductions of vintage catalogs which cover entirely or mainly stereo views unless otherwise noted. The small pages of the original catalogs are consolidated (at original size or larger) several to a 8 1/2" X 11" page. The pages are given as follows: X/Y in which X=number of original pages and Y=number of reproduced pages. Many also include listings of the views actually known from collections. Most have a biography of the photographer and examples of his work.

- LEVY, J., Paris, France, 1876, 109/25 pp, 6,000 entries for "Lantern slides and transparencies for the stereoscope". Europe, Middle & Far East, ruins of Paris, 1867 & 1872 Paris expositions, America (150 entries). Covers glass views, lantern slides, card views. Levy was successor to Ferrier & Soulier who produced most early glass views. Since stereos & lantern slides were usually made from the same negatives this gives a look at the whole coverage though only a fraction are identified as stereo. $6.00.
